I’ve just returned from a couple of days away attending the 2009 English Tourism Awards at the National Rail Museum in York. Having already been awarded the Gold Award for South West Tourism website of the year, pulse8 were proud to be chosen to represent the South West at these National awards in this incredibly competitive category.
When first informed of the venue I was intrigued to see how it could be possible to host such an evening in the middle of a train museum, and it was literally in the middle of a train museum. Surrounded by the hugely contrasting trains of the ornately beautiful royal carriage of Queen Victoria, draped with its silks, satins and gold to the dented panels of the armoured locomotive brut, the "Winston Churchill", this proved to be a really unique venue. I’m no train spotter but this place is awesome - even better when scoffing back bitesize canapes of Yorkshire Puddings, Roast Beef, Horseradish and Gravy. Is there a better mouthful of food by the way?
Congratulations to the National Railway Museum for hosting a fantastic evening and Ann and John Stocks from Compton Pool Farm (www.comptonpool.co.uk) for creating such an excellent 5 star self catering holiday venue and making our job so easy!
Finally, big ’woop’ to the crew at pulse8 for the multiple awards you’ve won over the years, it’s nice to be recognised for all that hard work you put in isn’t it?
Cheers
Matt.
